About Me

Kirsty Murray with black hair and sunglasses looking up at tall trees in a forest with green leaves and blue sky.

I'm Kirsty, an integrative psychotherapist offering a warm, supportive space for reflection and growth. I am available for sessions in Buckhurst Hill and online.

Before this, I spent over a decade in the legal sector, a world that taught me precision, resilience, and how to hold things together under pressure, but that eventually left me burnt out and asking whether "holding it together" was the same as feeling well. Through my own therapy, I reconnected with myself, discovering my values and a deeper sense of purpose. That process wasn't always comfortable, but it showed me firsthand what it means to be truly heard. This sparked a deep passion for therapy and how it can help us change our life for the better, leading me to retrain as a therapist.

If you're in a demanding job and quietly running on empty, I've been there.

I'm also part of the LGBTQ+ community. I know what it's like to question my identity, and to feel suppressed, invisible and misunderstood. I understand how valuable it can be to speak with someone who genuinely appreciates the complexity of that journey, without having to explain it from scratch. That same experience of feeling "othered" shapes how I work with anyone who feels they don't quite fit the mould, whatever that looks like for you.

My own calm space is walking in the forest with my wife and dog - a place where I feel grounded, safe, and connected, away from noise and expectations. I try to bring that same feeling into the therapy room: calm, open, and accepting, so you can explore whatever's on your mind at your own pace, without judgment and without needing to have the right words ready.

What I’m like in a therapy session

I'm not the kind of therapist who sits back in silence while you wonder what you're supposed to say. I'll ask questions and tell you honestly what I'm noticing. Sometimes that's a pattern you haven't spotted yet, like how often you apologise for crying or being ‘too much’. Some weeks you might want something practical to take away, and I'm happy to share tools you’ll find useful. Other weeks you'll just need to talk, and that's fine too. Either way, we'll keep checking in on what's actually helping.

You don't need to arrive with the right words, or know where to start.
