I offer both in-person sessions in Buckhurst Hill (at Cherry Tree Therapy Centre) and online sessions via secure video call on Google Meet.
Some clients choose to switch between the two, depending on what is going on for them - I am happy to be flexible depending on your needs.
-
Counselling tends to be shorter-term and focused on a specific issue or period of difficulty, while psychotherapy often explores longer-standing patterns in more depth. In practice the two overlap a great deal, and I draw on both approaches depending on what you need.
-
The first session is a chance to talk through what's brought you to therapy, ask any questions you have about how I work, and decide together whether it feels like the right fit. There's no obligation to continue after this session.
-
Yes, everything discussed in sessions is confidential, with a small number of legal exceptions (such as risk of serious harm to yourself or others), which I'll explain clearly before we begin.
-
This varies a lot depending on what you're working through. Some people find a handful of sessions helpful; others prefer ongoing, longer-term work. We'll review this together as we go.
-
I work from a relational, person-centred foundation, which means I believe we are all unique and the relationship we build together is at the heart of any real change. Alongside this, I draw on techniques from other approaches, including CBT and psychodynamic theory, depending on what's useful for you at any given time. There's no fixed formula, I adapt to what you bring, session by session.

Yes, I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such am bound by its ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy. Please refer to www.bacp.co.uk for further information.

I ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session, otherwise 50% of the fee will be chargeable to cover my own costs.

I welcome anyone looking for a safe, non-judgemental space to talk and explore what's going on for them, including those seeking support around anxiety and depression, stress and burnout, relationship and identity challenges, bereavement and loss, low self-esteem and lack of direction, LGBTQ+ experiences and identity exploration, and trauma and difficult past experiences.
-
Yes! You're welcome here exactly as you are. This is a space where you can talk openly about your identity, relationships, and experiences without needing to explain or justify who you are. As someone within the LGBTQ+ community myself, I bring a personal understanding to this work, alongside a genuine, ongoing commitment to making sure every client feels safe, respected, and seen.
-
Yes, I welcome neurodivergent clients and will always adapt the way I work to suit what feels comfortable and effective for you, whether that's more structure, flexibility around session format, or simply not expecting eye contact or a particular way of communicating.
